Taking over from where Skinny Eric’s left off, the shop at 16 Felstead Street was purchased by Alex on 7th March 2018, starting a brand new chapter that is Frankenbike.
The idea for the shop was incepted during Alex’s Transcontinental Race experience in 2016. Leaving the rat race behind, Alex decided to start their own shop in order to bring the joy of cycling at it’s basics to more people and provide a much more accessible service to those wanting to start out cycling or continue riding their bikes and receive honest and transparent advice as well as affordable servicing.
Alex has more than 5 years experience in various bike shops spanning the past 12 years and is a qualified mechanic. They are joined by two excellent mechanics – Mike, who originally worked for Skinny Eric’s and remains at Frankenbike and Jarek, who she has worked with in the past. Both are highly skilled and experienced in all things cycling and are all-round good guys who are happy to chat and to help.
